Day Crew Opportunities
The ACT Ride has many opportunities for people who cannot spend the whole Ride with us. Day crew fill various daytime support positions. Anyone can sign up to be a day crew member, so encourage your friends to join you as a volunteer.
The riders and crew cheer us on, just as much as we cheer “Go Riders! Go Crew!” – Kris Gorton
I had a blast! – Sharon William
I was told that no experience was necessary, and it wasn’t. All you need is a great attitude, a sense of humor and the ability to have fun while you work. – Adam Schroeder
Pre-Ride
-
Volunteer help us collect donations, pack totes, test routes, and make connections with food donors. If you have time, we have a job for you!
Registration "Day Zero"
-
Day Zero is our registration event the night before Opening Ceremony. Volunteers help register participants, collect pledges and ensure that registration goes smoothly.
Opening Ceremony
-
Opening Ceremony will be held early in the morning at Olbrich Park. Volunteers set up the stage, post signs, check participants in, and clean up after the ceremony.
Camp Services
-
Each day at camp, volunteers assist with setup, breakdown, and cleanup; check-in Riders, Crew and volunteers; coordinate parking and traffic situations, and hang camp signage and decoration.
Food Services
-
No prior experience needed! Volunteers in the kitchen assist with prepping, cooking, and serving breakfast and dinner each day.
Pit Stops
-
Volunteers at the pit stops serve refreshments, entertain and (most importantly!) cheer all along the route.
Moto
-
Moto volunteers help riders safely cross busy intersections. Get your whistles ready!
Closing Ceremony
-
Closing Ceremony is held on the Capitol Square and volunteers set up the stage and sound system, arrange the delivery and pick-up of luggage, and help tear down and clean up after the ceremony. It’s not over until the last tote is packed!
