ACT Ride
Closing Ceremony - End of the Ride
As you approach the end of the ACT Ride, it can be an emotional time, one for celebrating what has been accomplished and also for reflecting on why we participate in this cause. During Day 4 Lunch and Closing Ceremony, seek out your friends and enjoy the wonderful camaraderie of the ACT community.
Lunch and Holding
- We ask that your friends and family wait for you at the Closing Ceremony.
- "Holding" is time to get all riders assembled before our victory procession to the Capitol Square.
- As its name implies, we want all participants to be able to join together on the trip to the Closing Ceremony, so we "hold" early riders and early crews to wait for everyone to organized.
- We will eat lunch, hand out Victory T-shirts, share a few stories, and then get ready for the final ride up West Washington and around the Square.
- When it is time to begin the procession to the Capitol Square, riders will form four-abreast in the parking lot while all Crew Members will board the SAG bus.
- We may have police assistance navigating West Washington Avenue and the outer loop around the Capitol. If all instructions are followed, this works equally well.
Closing Ceremony
- The Closing Ceremony will begin on Sunday, August 5 at 2:300pm at the Capitol Square at Martin Luther King, Jr Boulevard.
- Entertainment for your guests begins at 1:30pm.
- We're pleased to announce that Aaron Williams and the Hoodoo will be this year's Closing Ceremony entertainment! Aaron Williams and the Hoodoo were nominated for nine MAMA (Madison Area Music Association) awards including Artist of the Year!
