Financial Responsibility and Accountability
The purpose of the Wisconsin AIDS Ride to raise awareness, educate the community, teach tolerance, and provide funds to AIDS Network, the state-appointed HIV/AIDS service provider for southern Wisconsin.
The Steering Committee strives to return the maximum amount of the donations raised, in order to support the direct services provided by AIDS Network. Our route and the funds we raise stay local to our service area. The event is volunteer-driven and, together with the support of our many sponsors, we are able to keep administrative and overhead costs low. On average the ACT Ride returns 85% of funds raised to AIDS Network -- an impressive figure of which we are very proud. To date, the ACT Ride has raised more than $2.7 million for AIDS Network, and last year ACT 9 raised over $222,000 and returned 82% of funds. ACT 9 saw a total of 87 riders, each raising a minimum of $1,200. ACT 10 has over 150 already registered and we are looking forward to a hugely successful event in 2012!
