Kintera is the online event software the ACT Ride uses to register participants, receive online donations, and much more! Each you’re only a few steps away from creating an easy place for anyone, anywhere to donate to the cause! When you register through Kintera you are automatically assigned your own personal fundraising page, giving you your own website to raise money for the Wisconsin AIDS Ride. Your donors can make a secure online pledge to you, and track your fundraising goals. It’s a great way to get additional exposure and increase your base of potential donors!
Setting Up Your Kintera Webpage
You can set up your page as soon as you complete your registration, or you can come back at anytime to your personal HQ using the address in your registration e-mail. If you need your login and password sent to you, contact the Ride Coordinator.
Your HQ page is the starting point. Click on "Build/Edit my Webpage," which is part of "My To Do List."
Enter a title for your webpage in the Line 1 box.
Enter a theme for your fundraising in the Line 2 box.
Decide whether you want to upload your own picture or select one from the image library. To upload your own image you must first edit your picture so it is 300 x 234 pixels and no more than 50 Kb in size. You can use any image editing software for this purpose.
Click on the "Browse" button and find the file you wish to upload. Click on the file name to select your file. The file name will be displayed in the little gray box. Click on the "Submit" button to upload your image and then click on the blue link "Click Here To Return" to return to the main webpage editing area.
You can select the standard theme (blank background) or any of the other themes. Check out the ribbon or bubbles themes!
Enter the caption you want for your picture or leave the default phrase, "Join me in my efforts to support AIDS Network."
Type the main message you want on your fundraising page in the box labeled "Edit The Text."
Once you have completed these steps, click the "Preview" button. If you like your results, you are ready to save your page! To save your changes click on the "Submit" button. If you are not satisfied, go back and make any edits, repeat the preview step and then the submit step when you are satisfied with your page's content.
